About

Hello all! Welcome to my blog. As a way to familiarize yourself with who I am, this about page is a way to get to know me a little.

My name is Victoria, I am a senior at Florida International University. I was born and raised in Miami and my family is from Ecuador and Cuba. I study international relations and political science at FIU with the hope of pursuing a higher degree in the same field. I really enjoy learning and wish to continue learning as long as I can. I don’t see myself living in Florida much longer and hope to branch out wherever my career may take me. I have a dog named Canela and a cat named Tefiti. I hope all of you are interested in my blog!

I've decided to center this blog around reviewing music albums and diving into the lyricism of the songs and ranking which ones I liked the best.

Tapestry is album by Carol King that was released in February of 1970. It was actually one of the first album I ever listened to completely. It features timeless hits like "It's Too Late," "I Feel the Earth Move," and "You've Got a Friend." The album showcases King's emotive vocals, poignant lyrics, and masterful piano playing, blending pop, rock, and folk influences. "Tapestry" received critical acclaim, winning four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. It has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, cementing King's legacy as a musical icon. The album's introspective and relatable songs continue to resonate with listeners, making "Tapestry" a timeless classic in popular music.   I feel the earth move-3   So far away-4   Its too late-2   Home again-6   Beautiful-7   Way over yonder -12   You’ve got a friend-1   Where you lead -11   Will you love me tomorrow-8   Smackwater jack -10   Tapestry-9   (You ma...

The album contains 15 songs totaling a 41-minute run time. Although at face value the album is techno and upbeat, some songs contain themes of feeling alone, jealous ly, and substance abuse. There was a huge build up around this album and when the album cov er was released it caused an uproar around the music community.
